Auto Crafter Limits

Due to abuse, we have had no choice but to add limits for auto crafters. Players will be limited to 10 auto crafters (we may adjust this later).

We don’t like adding these types of limits, but when one player is eating up all the resources going crazy and affecting other players, we don’t really have a choice. If you already have more than the limit deployed as of now, you won’t be able to place any more until you remove enough to fall under the limit.

PvE System Updated March 8 2025

The PvE system has received an update during the 5:00pm reboot to address some issues with siege weapons, bees, and a few other items. While its been tested out, there’s always the possibility that some situation wasn’t observed during testing. So please be sure to let us know via ticket in #admin-help on our Discord if you notice anything not acting right.

March 2025 Wipe

Get your beekeeper suits on and round up the chickens, March wipe is here!

FacePunch has added quite a few new things this wipe, you can see more on that here.

For us, we are also introducing Abandoned Bases this wipe. In the past, when players were offline for more than 3 days, their bases would simply be purged from the server. Now, bases that meet certain requirements will become raidable by other players after 3 days. These bases will show on the map similar to raidable bases. Raiders will have 60 minutes to claim (start raiding) a base after it becomes abandoned at which time the base will become locked to that player and their team. The bases will continue to be locked to the raiding player until they are raided or for 60 minutes after the last damage done. Once that time is up, the base will be purged. As of now, auto turrets will not attack the raiders. This is to avoid other players being targeted outside of the raid. NOTE: The dome ‘may’ display over multiple bases if they are built close together, but that doesn’t mean all bases inside the dome are raidable. Only the one at the center of the dome is included.

Bee swarms from players (bee grenades) shouldn’t attack players. Only minimal testing has been done with this, so please let us know if you take damage from other players on this. Bee swarms from cutting down a tree will still attack you.

February 2025 Wipe

Lots of changes this wipe including new items and rule changes. Read on for more info.

Rule changes:
* Excessively large bases that cause visual lag (rendering lag) for others may be removed without notice. Remember, this is NOT a build server. If you want to practice building large clan type bases, please find a build server. There is an option to search for those in the server browser list.
* Using alt accounts to bypass restrictions will result in all the accounts being banned.
For the full list of rules, visit our rules page or type /rules in-game (3 pages)

Gameplay changes:
* We are lowering the number of foundations from 300 to 250 and foundations will no longer be shared among clan members. Some of you know the reason for this change and we are sorry it was allowed to go on as long as it did.
* We have also removed per building limits on certain entities. Auto turrets for example were limited to 12 per building and 20 globally. The building restriction has been removed so all 20 turrets can now be placed on one building if you wish.
* When placing entities that are limited, a toast message will be displayed showing your current usage and the max allowed.
* The /flimit command has been removed. See last bullet point above.
* Several new items have been added for the new primitive mode. While we will not be enabling primitive mode, players will still be able to craft these new items. Some items such as the mounted ballista, catapult and battering ram require extra “construction” with the hammer after placing (this is noted in the craft window). So place the base and get to hammering!

Game appears to freeze for a half second

If your game freezes for just a brief second (not a rubber band effect that is usually associated with network/server lag), Rust may be doing what is called a garbage collect (GC). GCs are a way for programs to free up memory not being used. When a GC happens in Rust, the game can appear to freeze for a brief moment. Some players may associate this brief pause with lag, but this is not the case.

How do I know if Rust is doing a garbage collect?

Sometimes, you can see the GC reported in F1 console. It will display as
[GC] Emergency garbage collection: followed by an amount of memory that was freed up. However, not all GCs are shown here. To see them all, you can turn on Advanced Ping in options to show you detailed info about your memory, fps, ping and GC events. To do this, from the Rust main menu, go to Options then under Gameplay, set FPS Counter to “Advanced + Ping”. This will display your FPS, memory and current server ping in the bottom left of the screen. If a GC event happens, a fourth line will be very briefly displayed above it alerting you to the GC. Again, the line is shown very briefly so you have to be quick in spotting it.

New Raidable Bases Added

We have added an extra 110 base designs to the Raidable Bases system. We are still reviewing them all to make sure they have enough loot boxes for each tier, but the base configs appear good on most so far.

Easy, Medium and Hard received 30 bases each. Expert and Nightmare received 10 each.

January 2025 Wipe

Happy New Year Everyone! Hope everyone had a great Christmas and hope your 2025 turns out great as well!

We do have a couple changes to let you know about:

  • Raidable Bases Hint Command – /rb hint is now available on Hard, Expert and Nightmare bases. This command will show you loot locations for any remaining crates in the base. Players must locate 80% of the loot before being able to run the hint command. The command also has a 60 second cooldown between uses.
  • Clan system has been upgraded to Clans Reborn. Same basic functionality as before. However, we are not enabling the auto team create option at this time.
UPDATE: Config for team auto create got set back to on by mistake during the upgrade, so we will be leaving it on for now.

FP rolled back some expected changes (the right thing to do IMO considering I’m sure a lot of their staff was off during Christmas). So most everything else should be business as usual except for some general bug fixes and such.

As always, please let us know if you run into any problems by making a ticket in #admin-help on our Discord.
