Building Tools

*Video updated November 8th, 2025*

We are pleased to announce a new plugin that will roll several commands into one interface.

Building Tools will take the place of /bgrade, /up, /down, and add back /bskin.

The functionality of the commands does change slightly, so we did a video to cover the basic usage. Additional notes are below the video.

Notes:

  • Tiers are: 1 – Wood, 2 – Stone, 3 – Metal, 4 – High Quality Metal
  • /up <number> – Automatically upgrade as you build or manually upgrade individual blocks with hammer after they are already placed.
  • /up all <number> – Upgrade the entire base you are looking at to the tier specified.
  • /down – Individually downgrade blocks one tier at a time with your hammer.
  • /down all <number> – Downgrade the entire base you are looking at to the tier specified.
  • While Building Tools does have a remover tool built in, we decided to keep the /remove command as most people tend to find it easier to use.

As always, if you have any questions or run into problems, please reach out on our Discord.

Loot Protection Updated For Mannequins

The loot protection plugin has been updated for better use with the new mannequins. Mannequins are now treated similar to storage boxes. Players on the TC or in your clan will be able to access their clothing and swap their poses. Other players will not be able to access them. You can also /share the mannequins to allow any other player to access their clothing.

Mannequins Now PvE Protected

We’ve added protection to the new Mannequins to prevent others from stealing clothing from them.

However, only the original owner of the mannequin will be able to access the clothing and poses for now. Clanmates will not be able to access them. We do see a request for changes to the modding framework that should hopefully allow this, but that likely won’t happen until next force wipe or later.

September 2025 Wipe

Here comes September!

There were several updates to plugins this month. So as usual, please let us know of any issues you see via ticket in #admin-help on our Discord.

A couple of pending issues are still present that we are waiting for updates on:

  • Monument NPCs – Our custom monument NPCs are not currently spawning. We have reached out to the author of the plugin for assistance.
  • Event system has not received it’s update yet. So arena events are still disabled.
  • Village and Factory map markers – The map markers for our custom monuments are not loading right. Based on feedback from the editing community, we are not sure if this is a Rust issue or an Editor issue. We are hoping this will be fixed in an update, but that’s still unclear. But for now the markers are shown like the image below. The monument location for each is under the first underscore of “volumes_and_triggers” as shown by the red arrow.

You can find more info about general Rust changes this month on the devblog.

PVE Updated – Wallpaper Fix

The PVE plugin has been updated (THANK YOU NIVEX!) to hopefully fix the issue with wallpaper showing up randomly on bases. As always, please let us know on our Discord if you have any issues.

If you already have random wallpaper on your base, you will have to remove it with the hammer, but it “shouldn’t” come back afterwards.

Couple Of Updates

A few updates loaded at 5pm reboot. Mainly an update to Server Rewards and the Wallpaper Planner.

Shouldn’t notice any changes with Server Rewards, but please let us know if you notice any issues via our Discord.

Wallpaper Planner now includes a few more custom wallpapers for use. For more info on how to use the planner if you’re not familiar with it, see our Information and Commands page.

New Entity Limits

Due to abuse, we are going to be adding limits on a few other items: Campfires, Red Search Lights and Blue Strobes to name a few, but others will likely be added. These can cause low FPS for players with lower end graphics and serve no practical purpose in large groups anyway. If you are already above the limit on these items, you won’t be able to place anymore until you remove enough to fall back under the limit. However, we may selectively remove some in cases of extreme abuse.

We will monitor and adjust the new limits as needed.

Please remember to read the rules and keep in mind that we are NOT a build server.
